Building Cost

During the architectural design process, it is the custom builder's role to provide building cost feedback as well as creative input. It is important for the homeowner to receive budget input during the design process so that costs may be considered which may affect design decisions. Designing a beautiful custom home may be an expensive process if the expected cost turns out to be beyond a client's budget range when the plans are completed!

Signature Homes typically charges a percentage of the building cost as gross income for project management. This is known as a "cost plus" building agreement. This allows the homeowner the comfort in knowing the building fee structure at the beginning of the planning phase in an effort to avoid surprises when the architectural plans are completed. Changes from the plans during construction are also done on a cost plus basis, allowing the homeowner flexibility during the building process while avoiding expensive "change order" fees.
