Custom Homes

Construction Process

Once the plans are completed and the loan is in place it is time to start building your new home. Construction of a custom home is the cumulative effort of many different subcontracting firms and material suppliers, each specifically responsible for certain phases and functions of building the home.

Construction costs are paid by the builder directly to the subcontractors and suppliers during the construction process. The homeowner is billed by the builder once a month on average for work in progress.

The length of the construction process may be affected by such factors as the size and complexity of the home design, changes made by homeowners during the construction process, interior design selection schedule and inclement weather.
